Cornwall 2016 4th of July Celebration

Our family always looks forward to the 4th of July with much anticipation. It is Matt's favorite holiday for the year as we celebrate our independence in Inkom, Idaho with family, food, and homemade rootbeer. This year was no different.

The weekend started off with a cousins tea party. It was so stinkin' adorable seeing all the little girls in their decorated hats and fancy dresses. Matt's cousin Tosha hosted it and she did SUCH a nice job! Even though it was technically only for girls, Tyler didn't want to be left out! He even grabbed his cowboy hat before grabbing a chair at one of the tables.

The 4th started off with a flag ceremony followed by the parade, carnival games, and food. I was bummed that something happened to the setting on the camera, so the lighting is way off, but you get the idea. Tyler was SOOOO excited to meet the "real" Captain America (Matt's cousin's husband dresses up every year).

It's kind of funny... Matt's family celebrates the 4th all day, but then everyone leaves before any evening festivities, which is when most families enjoy time together. Truth be told, after partying all day, I think everyone is pretty worn out in the evening. Anywy, we were the only ones that stayed the night of the 4th! We only did a few fireworks since Matt's grandparents' property backs to a hill. Don't worry, we did a bunch when we got back into town :-)

On the morning of the 5th, Matt got up early with the kids and took Kylee and Tyler on a little hike up the hill behind his grandparents' home. They all had a great time. I think Bradley and I will join them next year :-)

That wrapped up our weekend in Inkom! We are all looking forward to heading back this fall for "Apple Days"!
