Matt has training all summer, so we only have weekends to "play" right now. We decided to take a family summer trip in mid-June, but since we only had a couple days, we needed to go somewhere close. Lagoon was at the top of our list, but I really hesitated going. I wasn't sure how Tyler would do and how much fun it would really end up being with him. I imagined me carrying a tired, grumpy kid around the park, not being able to go on any rides because he is too little, I am pregnant, etc.
After going back and forth, we bit the bullet and booked our hotel. We got to the park about 9:15, just before the parking lot opened. This was perfect because then we got a great parking spot and we were some of the first people in line to enter the park. Tyler could technically have gotten into the park free, but that didn't allow him to go on any rides. I ended up getting him a child's entrance ticket and I'm soooo glad I did (otherwise we would have had to pay $2-5 per ride). When the park opened, we headed straight for some of the bigger rides. Kylee and Matt were able to go on the cool roller coasters without having to really wait in line at all.
After lunch the lines started to get pretty long... so we went on just a few more rides and then headed to Lagoon A Beach. It was nice to cool off, but it was super crowded and they ended up not letting more people in shortly after we go there because they hit capacity. After playing for a while, we decided we had had enough fun for the day. We stopped for ice cream before we left the park, and then headed home. We had originally planned on staying the night in Pocatello, but Matt was a trooper and drove us all the way home so we could sleep in our own beds and avoid another day of travel. Even though it was just a quick trip, it was full of memories. Both kids did awesome, with no complaining or grumpiness. I am so glad we went!
